TOYS FOR TOTS
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
High Country Marine Corps League Detachment 1389 has coordinated thousands of dollars worth of toys to be given to local Ashe County children and support the Toys for Tots campaign each year.

LCPL Philip S. Walter SCHOLARSHIP
Lance Corporal Phillip S. Walter was an Ashe County native who served 4 years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps including 3 months in Afghanistan in support Operation Enduring Freedom.

PARADES
The High Country Marine Corps League is active in West Jefferson's parades to build awareness of the MCL's mission and to join the community in celebration.
MARINE CORPS BALL
We host the Marine Corps Birthday celebration and ball for local Marines and supporters.
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
We participate and volunteer in support of Wreaths Across America, a national campaign to remember, honor, and teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies on the graves of Veterans.
GUN RAFFLE
Each year we hold a gun raffle to raise funds in support of our community programs.
