How to Join​

Complete Application: Click on the Marine Corps League membership application form above, and download and complete the form.

Reach out to the detachment at ashecountymarines@gmail.com

Provide Proof: Submit a copy of your DD-214 or other proof of service for eligibility verification.

Pay Dues: Pay your annual membership dues.

Attend a Meeting: Attend a detachment meeting to be officially sworn into the detachment.
Who Can Join
​
To join the Marine Corps League as a regular member, you must be an active duty or honorably discharged U.S. Marine (90+ days active duty or 90+ Reserve Retirement Credit Points), or a Navy FMF-qualified Corpsman who served with Marines. For regular members, proof of service with an honorable discharge (e.g., DD-214) is required. Associate membership is open to those who support the League but are not eligible for regular membership.

Regular membership
You must meet one of the following criteria to become a regular member:

Active Duty Marine:.
Served honorably on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps for at least 90 days​

Marine Corps Reserve:
Served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and earned a minimum of 90 Reserve Retirement Credit Points.

Navy FMF Corpsman:
Served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman, trained with Marine Fleet Marine Force (FMF) units for more than 90 days, and earned the Marine Corps device (clasp) or the Warfare Device authorized for FMF Corpsmen.

Navy FMF Chaplain:
Served as a U.S. Navy Chaplain who earned the FMF Badge (or FMF Ribbon) while deploying with Marines in the FMF.

Associate Membership

Non-Marine Support:
Individuals who do not meet the criteria for regular membership but support the aims and ideals of the Marine Corps League.

Sponsored:
Typically requires sponsorship by at least two regular members of the League.
